Double the pixel density and resolution in a plasma display. The highest resolution you can get in a 50-inch flat screen - in fact, it's a world-first.

The PDP-5000EX has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and is capable of displaying the entire range of High Definition sources, including 720p, 1080i and 1080p – this is the first plasma display capable of 1080p.

What this means is that you get the ultimate in High Definition image detail, colour accuracy and fast moving image clarity – made possible by the displays higher pixel count and faster refresh rate (of 720p).

Again, the best you’ll find in a 50-inch flat screen.

The PDP-5000EX accepts both standard and high definition sources and will automatically “smart” convert these to give you the highest resolution picture possible.

	Deep Waffle Rib Structure: This energy efficient design allows each pixel to deliver a more concentrated beam of light, for truer colour and brighter images. PUREBLACK Crystal Layer: this forms part of the front glass plate of the panel to dramatically improve dynamic colour and contrast, deeper black colours, and increased brightness. Direct Colour Filter for enhanced contrast and accurate colour reproduction. The non-glass filter is bonded directly to the plasma panel reducing light reflection and refraction for a more accurate image.

Active DRE (Dynamic Range Expander): your picture is continuously adjusted to make use of the panel's superior contrast range. Advanced PURECinema which allows film-based material on DVD or even regular TV to be matched with the natural reproduction seen in a movie theatre - originally encoded at 24 frames per second.
