The MultiView PCI, like all Magenta transmitters, is compatible with the entire MultiView Series. The PCI is capable of transmitting 1600x1200 resolution RGBHV computer video, with full fidelity, to 1500’ (457m), and 2048x1536 to 1000’ (305m), depending on the companion Magenta receiver. The MultiView PCI is designed for any application where it would be more convenient to have the Cat5 transmitter inside the PC, rather than in an external box. It's a MultiView transmitter, reformated onto an industry-standard PCI card.
The MultiView PCI transports computer video and summed L+R audio. A pigtail VGA cable (not included) is used to transport the VGA signals from the graphics card of the PC, to the input of the MultiView PCI. An RJ45 output allows the Cat5 / UTP cable to be run directly from the PC. Audio input is via a 3.5mm mini jack. An auxiliary plate is included for "local monitor" capability. The MultiView PCI takes its power from the card slot itself - no separate power supply is required. (Note: serial capability is optional - see below.
The MultiView PCI-S transports computer video plus simplex or duplex serial commands. A pigtail VGA cable (not included) is used to transport the VGA signals from the graphics card of the PC, to the input of the MultiView PCI-S. An RJ45 output allows the Cat5 / UTP cable to be run directly from the PC, carrying both the computer video and serial commands on a singular Cat5. An auxiliary plate includes a DB9 serial input connector and a "local monitor" capability. The MultiView PCI-S takes its power from the card slot itself - no separate power supply is required. (Note: if serial is not needed, and/or audio is desired to accompany the computer video, use the MultiView PCI, not PCI-S.)
