Powered Rack Mount Frame Holds 16 Accessory Cards in Only 4U
Morph-It™ is a 4U, rack-based Cat5/6 signal distribution platform that is effective in applications with many sources, or at the front end of a MultiView or Mondo Matrix Cat5 switcher. One accessory, the Dual EQ Card, extends the effective distance capability of the MultiView Series receivers by 152 meters, potentially saving money by allowing shorter-distance MultiView receivers to be utilized. For example, a MultiView AK1000 receiver combined with a Morph-It Dual EQ Card enables 457 metres of computer video extension.
Morph-It Dual EQ Cards also include built-in skew compensation to correct for cable-induced color shifting. In a matrix switching application, they allow varying input cable lengths on the source end of the matrix switcher to be nulled, so that when sources are switched to the various destinations, optimum video fidelity is maintained without adjustment. The Morph-It 4U frame holds sixteen Dual EQ Cards, enough to address 32 receivers or balance 32 inputs going into a Mondo Matrix™ Cat5 switcher.
The Morph-It frame alternatively holds sixteen of a second accessory, the Dual Transmitter Card, enabling 32 powered transmitters to be packed into only 4U - less than half the 10U normally required for 32 transmitters and rack-mount power supplies. This is very convenient in high-density transmitter applications, such as a casino with a large number of video sources. Transmitter power is drawn directly from the Morph-It backplane, eliminating power supplies. Dual EQ Cards and Dual Transmitter Cards can be mixed and matched within a 4U Morph-It frame. This would allow for example, sixteen transmitters and corresponding EQ adjustments in 4U.
Morph-It Dual MultiView Transmitter Cards are available in four configurations:
• Dual MultiView Transmitter Card: Single-slot card to transmit high-resolution video plus L/R summed audio OR simplex serial signals.
• Dual MultiView Transmitter Card with Local Monitor Out: Double-slot card to transmit high-resolution video plus L/R summed audio OR simplex serial signals.
• Dual MultiView Transmitter Card with Local Monitor Out and Full-Duplex RS-232: Double-slot card.
• Dual MultiView -SA Transmitter Card with Local Monitor Out: Double-slot card to transmit high-resolution video PLUS stereo audio PLUS full-duplex RS-232.
Morph-It and the Dual Transmitter Card save capital expense and reduce rack space in applications with twelve or more video sources.
