Mondo Matrix III
Building on the incredible success of the Mondo Matrix II, Magenta’s Mondo Matrix III redefines the standard for UTP switching and extension by adding optional addressable duplex capability and a variety of redundancy and performance improvements. The new addressable duplex serial capability enables digital signage applications to collect individual display data and metrics in addition to independent control over each display. Like its predecessor, the field upgradable Mondo III also future proofs your investment by allowing for the addition of inputs and outputs in increments of 16, and supports an unprecedented maximum configuration of 256x512. Compatibility with all MultiView products enables the extension of 1920x1200 video, stereo audio and serial signals over a range of 609m.
The Mondo Matrix III can be programmed and controlled using the onboard touch-screen, Windows HyperTerminal, Magenta’s Mondo Matrix Control Software, or 3rd party control systems such as Calypso, AMX or Crestron.
The Mondo Matrix III, while fully compatible with the previous Mondo Matrix, offers a host of upgrades, plus additional features and benefits at no additional cost. Mondo III now includes front-panel indicator lights, allowing switch operators to check status on the unit’s power supplies, fans, filter and temperature at a glance. Mondo III also adds a replaceable air filter, two DB9 serial connections, true redundant power supplies and a new backlit 2x16 character LCD to aid in configuration and diagnostics.
Key Features
Mondo Direct VGA + Audio Input Cards:
In some switching applications where the sources are in close proximity to the matrix switch, Magenta’s Mondo Direct eliminates the need for standalone transmitters by supporting direct video and audio/serial inputs into the switch. Moreover, the Mondo Direct is the only platform that can combine local sources with remote sources in a single switching platform and can support the extension of AV and serial signals up to a range of 2000ft/609m. Transmitted to the switch via UTP, the remote inputs can be mixed with the direct inputs in configurations that are scalable up to 16 direct inputs + 32 remote inputs x 128 outputs, or 32 direct inputs x 128 outputs. Like the Mondo II and Mondo III, the Mondo Direct also future proofs your investment by allowing for the addition of inputs and outputs in increments of 16 and is compatible with all MultiView -A and -S products.
The Mondo Direct can be programmed and controlled using the onboard touch-screen, Windows HyperTerminal, Magenta’s Mondo Matrix Control Software, or 3rd party control systems such as Calypso, AMX or Crestron. Mondo Direct Brochure
Note: IF you were using a Mondo Direct and wanted to send simplex serial, the transmitter needs to be set for this (best done at time of order as it's time consuming to take a single transmitter out of a Mondo and re-jumper it, settings on server anyway).
You use the audio jack to get the signal in (see Appendix A of the Mondo User guide for pinning).
The serial comes out of the receivers through the normal Aux connector assuming the a unit strapped for simplex serial.
Note that using receivers strapped for Stereo Audio and RS 232 (SA) will not work in this case as they require an SA configured transmitter which the Mondo Direct does not support.
