Magenta’s Cat’s i is a digital, audio-video extension product that transmits High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) content from a source to a display device, such as a monitor, projector or flat-panel.
Fully compatible with the HDCP (High-Definition Content Protection) protocol, Cat’s i transmitter and receiver units deliver 720p and 1080i HD video plus audio to 91 metres and 1080p HD video plus audio to 46 metres.
Ideal for both home theater and commercial applications, Cat's i delivers optimum image quality throughout its specified range, utilizing powered electronic circuitry. Using the Cat's i kit and Screened Twisted Pair (ScTP) cables, the display device can be remoted far beyond what could be accomplished with the longest available HDMI cables.
For example, in a home theater application, the plasma or LCD display could be at the one end of a large residence, with the DVD, satellite receiver or cable box source located at the other end and/or on another level—not possible with HDMI cables!
Cat’s i is capable of transmitting DVI video when using an appropriate HDMI to DVI adapter.
Cat’s i receivers are also used as companion receivers for the 4Play 1x4 DVI transmitter.
For DVI extension beyond 91m., Magenta offers the Infinea DVI Series, featuring unlimited daisy-chaining via repeating fiber and/or Cat(X) receivers.
• 1080p signals: 46m over ScTP
• 1080i/720p signals: 91m over ScTP
• XGA signals: 60m over ScTP
• UXGA signals: 46m over ScTP
